These databases allow you to do research in magazine and newspaper articles covering a wide range of subjects. You can find the fulltext for many major Canadian newspapers, and current and back issues of over 1,000 magazines.

Many of our databases are available through the library's web site 24/7, whether from the library, home, school or work.

PLEASE NOTE: You will now need your 14-digit library card number AND your 4 digit PIN in order to access many of our online resources. .

Academic OneFile

Access to over 8000 full text journals and newspapers covering business, science, medicine, and engineering. This online resource is a good source of academic and scholarly information.


Business - Gale Virtual Reference Library

Online full text handbooks and encyclopedias covering business and e-commerce.


Business Plans Handbooks - Gale Virtual Reference

Sample plans taken from businesses in the manufacturing, retail and service industries which serve as examples of how to approach, structure and compose business plans.


CBCA Complete

Canadian Business and Current Affairs. Full text of magazines and newspapers covering current events, business, science, the arts, and academic information. This combines searching all of the CBCA special subject databases. Includes some French titles.

Remote access to this title has been temporarily removed. You can only access this within the library until further notice.


General Reference Center Gold

General interest & business journals, news service articles, plus indexing of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, with a mainly American focus


Global Road Warrior

Global Road Warrior is an online resource that provides in-depth information on 175 countries. Useful for travellers, business people and students, you can research a nation's culture & society, greetings & courtesies, food & recipes, business culture, money and banking, economy and trade, communications, history and national symbols. All maps and images can be used in student projects.


O’Brien's Forms

Collection of Canadian legal forms, agreements and commentary, covering business, commercial, leases, wills and trusts.

Business users will be most interested in contracts, waivers and forms for industrial, retail & office leases, advertising & promotion, employment, bills of exchange, loans, intellectual property, partnership, shipping and agriculture. 



Search data from Canadian Census, Canadian Survey of Household Spending and Dun & Bradstreet Canadian Company Database. You can do both consumer and business research, gain marketing insights and combine this with web-based mapping capabilities.

Users must create a Personal Account the first time they use SimplyMap. This can be done from the SimplyMap login page.

Universal Class

Universal Class is a set of online courses covering a wide range of topics. Courses are studied at your own pace and there are instructors available to answer questions and monitor your progress. Up to 5 courses can be studied at a time.

The first time you use Universal Class you must create an account in order to have your progress saved. After this you can click the 'Sign In' button in the top right of the screen (see screenshot below).

Universal Class is accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
