Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of teens, between the ages of 14 to 19, who CARE about the library!  With representatives from all Barrie high schools, the group’s mission statement is: “To create an atmosphere that cultivates the love of reading while providing library-related services to teens in a fun and friendly environment.”  TAB members help to plan programs, promote teen reading, and strive to create a great environment for young adults at the library!

The many benefits of being a TAB member include:

  • It’s a fun and rewarding way to complete your 40 hours of community service
  • You can learn valuable leadership and teamwork skills
  • Participation looks great on your resume or a job application
  • You get to meet and interact with other teens

For more information or to set up an interview to join TAB, please contact Cindy Pomeroy at 705-728-1010, ext 7016 or by e-mail at cindy.pomeroy@barrie.ca

Meetings

TAB meets on the fourth Monday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We plan teen programs, share ideas, make suggestions for the library, and of course, eat pizza!

(Pizza for TAB meetings is generously donated by Dominos Pizza Barrie.)

Our Accomplishments
